For Surfers?

12th March 2010 21:58

Yesterday
For photography of 'Men's Voi'
I was at a beach in Shonan

The weather was good
So were the waves

That's what
My surfer friend would say [laugh]

At breaks between photography I looked at the beach
I haven't gone surfing recently

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I don't think the weather is right for now
But
It'll be fun to be in the sea
I look forward to surfing

No matter how fine I say the weather is
If I were to jump into the sea this season
My heart's just not in it

In private
When I'm into something, I really get into it
What am I into these days?

Thinking about surfing
I feel kinda envious

Here's me washing a car
Took a photo...

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The water is cooling!!

And
Looking once more at the beach,
Remnants of surfing linger
That how I feel ne [laugh]

Photography went really well
So it ended earlier than planned

At the end of last year
I got a new car
This time, the roof opens up

Driving home with the hood down
I could see the sky
Great feeling~

After that,
To complete my transformation into Shinagawa Daichi for
'Yankee-kun to Megane-chan'
I went to the hairdresser's for a hairstyle change

Ever since my debut
'FACE-T' has taken care
of my hairdressing needs

I was there
For six and a half hours!

Shampoo, 5 times!!

Hair was dyed over and over again
Finally the colour was decided

The one in-charge Matsuoka-san
Always delivers on my
Difficult and ambiguous requests

Thank you so much

This time too, there's a good vibe to it

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

That's it for my entry
It's quite a long one [laugh]

It was a pleasant day~

This has been Narimiya.

Tumbling
On Location Report

Vol.01 Sneak peek into Rhythmic Gymnastics practice!
Yamamoto-kun, Seto-kun and the other actors basically have no experience in rhythmic gymnastics... As the cast of the drama will perform all the moves themselves without the use of any stand-ins, they had to get used to gymnastics quickly. Actually, they had started practicing since autumn last year!!

Yamamoto-kun looks so cool with that serious face, doesn't he☆

The boys are under the guidance of Coach Yamada from Kokushikan University's Gymnastics Club.
He's a great guy with a great smile but when the cast members transform into his students, the strict coaching begins!

On the first day of practice, the boys met with the coach and started to ply themselves into flexibility. Flexibility is the foundation of gymnastics. The cast members did 180 degrees split with their legs, with their bodies flat on the floor. In the beginning, it was pretty tough on the thighs... Even now shrieks of "Ouch~" could be heard as they stretch in pairs, but still they do so smiling. It's important to practice daily. The bodies were stiff at first but with continued practice, they managed to do a proper split. I can feel everyone's power working together!

Inspired by the sight of flexible bodies all around them, the producers too thought they'd start... Yamamoto-kun who was stretching burst into laughter looking at the producer whose body refused to co-operate (*laugh*)

Producer Kato getting a helping hand from Assistant Director Fukuda-san♪

"I was like that when I first started too." Hearing those words, the producer said,"I wonder if I can get that flexible too..." The web staff whose hands have never managed to touch the floor during bend and stretch exercises are secretly practicing too. I wonder if we'll get flexible before the drama ends...☆

Next, with a bamboo stick in his hand, practice with music started under the coach's watchful eye.

Outside of practice, he's a teacher with a cheerful smile!

He looks at them from the tip of their hands to their tiptoes, and makes them redo the exercises countless times... Then, he calls out "Last one!" and "Alright!" He cuts an impressive figure as he fires everyone up. For a moment he smiles and it really feels like a real team!!

Even when it's not their turn, they shadow together ☆

Smiles stay on even during practice ♪

Serious discussion of rhythmic gymnastics underway!

As with the drama's title, they had tumbling practice too.

Yamamoto-kun's dynamic somersault!!

Doing somersaults on the mat is one of the features of rhythmic gymnastics. Back somersaults require more skill... and involves a certain amount of danger, so practice is done one-to-one! It would be scary if the landing failed!!

You cannot do a back somersault right away, so the practice starts from front handspring → front somersault → back handspring.
When the boys were still in the beginning stages of practice, there were times when they fell on their shoulders while doing the back somersaults and you can see their bodies automatically take on a defensive posture... After Yamamoto-kun jumped, you could hear him mutter "Scary...". It gives me chills just looking at them, but they looked like they were having fun as they cheered each other on!!

For the rhythmic gymnastics team to perform, teamwork is life!
With the bonds that have deepened for the actors practicing since last autumn, their real rhythmic gymnastics performance is a must-see!!!

~

A little about rhythmic gymnastics :

The Japanese version of men's rhythmic gymnastics has individuals performing on four types of apparatus : the double rings, the stick, the rope and the clubs. Groups do not use any apparatus. Also includes tumbling performed on a spring floor. Points are awarded based on a 10-point scale that measures the difficulty of the tumbling and apparatus handling. Wikipedia

Learn the terminology before the drama starts. Another one with animation.

Darren Shan Japan Premiere

Chris Massoglia and Yamamoto Yusuke were in Tokyo on 9th March for the Japan premiere of Darren Shan. Chris Massoglia plays the main character in the movie (also known as Cirque du dreak : The Vampire's Assistant) adapted from a series of books by Darren Shan. Yamamoto Yusuke voices his character in the Japanese dub.

Chris arrived in Japan on the 1st and has been touring for the local movie campaign. He had been to Sapporo, Sendai, Fukuoka and Hiroshima and was joined by Yamamoto in Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo. Asked about his favourite food in the cities he had visited, he replied,"I tried the specialty of each city and the one I like most is shabu-shabu." Yamamoto said,"I ate with Chris in Nagoya. We had miso katsu, kishimen and tenmusu."

Yamamoto who had never done voice work before commented,"It's different from movies and stage work so I was not sure how to prepare for it. It went surprisingly smoothly though. The recording was planned for a week but was done in 3 days." The most difficult scene? "A scene where he was devouring meat from the fridge."

With 14th March coming in a few days, the MC asked the two guys. "If you were to invite a girl out for a date to watch this movie on White Day, what would you say?" Yamamoto was slightly taken aback and asked laughing,"What's with that? Well I guess... I'm doing the voice work for this movie, wanna watch it together?" And Chris? "This guy I know, Yamamoto Yusuke, is in the movie. Wanna see it together?"

Still on the topic of White Day, Yamamoto said,"I didn't receive any chocolates this year. I did receive some from fans but none in my personal life. I live far from my family too so... I don't have anything special planned. Pretty boring." White Day is something new to Chris. "There's no White Day in America. Only Valentine's Day. Both guys and girls give and receive presents, a day you spend with someone special."

The audience received an early White Day present from the two of them at the end of the premiere, an original Darren Shan cookie with a message. Darren Shan opens nationwide on 19th March.

TGC
10th March 2010 23:35

A few days ago, Mao-san made an appearance with Jonathan at the 'Tokyo Girls Collection' in Yokohama Arena!

When she went to the hall for the rehearsal, it was only after she walked in it that she realized how big it really was!
Seeing the two of them walk with the outfits they had on during the movie made me unintentionally tear up.
"I really respect the models who walk in this huge hall so confidently and the artistes who perform concerts here!" said Mao-san.

Backstage before their entry, she was practicing over and over with Jonathan their walk and how they would turn!
Mao prayed,"I hope we don't fall down!!"

And, finally they were up..!!
Mao-san looked so touched hearing the cheers from the crowd the moment she appeared on stage!

After it ended, all the staff members backstage clapped and said,"Good job~!!"
The wedding dress was from 'Eri Matsui Haute Couture'.
Designer Eri-sensei who had been with us since 'Hana Yori Dango' took time out to be with us today too.
Eri-sensei also designed the red prom press Doumyouji gave as a present in the HanaDan drama and also the dreamy wedding dress she wore during the HanaDan Final movie.
They're always beautiful because she fits them on Mao-san so meticulously♪

Finally, a photo with all the staff members for keepsake♪♪

Lastly, just to let you know. You can download Mao-san's photos to use as stand-by on your mobile phones and such on Darling wa Gaikokujin's official mobile site.
Check it out!!

G Power

11th March 2010 00:49

Yesterday during interval between filming
I went shopping at GIVENCHY

At the S/S show,
I thought that Givenchy
had the coolest look this season

Items like t-shirt with star studs,
T-shirt with prints, and
Bangles

Because there wasn't much time to shop
I was making quite a fuss
I troubled the salesperson
with many questions

The t-shirts that I buy
They usually shrink after washing

When you like a shirt
Then it shrinks
Makes you wanna cry right?

This time, a little bit bigger!

It was cold in Tokyo yesterday, with the rain falling
The worst was when it snowed in the evening...
But thanks to G, it was a good day!

By the way... my cap is G too

Thank you! G!! [laugh]

This has been Narimiya.

ALL UP.

9th March 2010 15:27

Hello~

Yesterday was my last filming
for 'Bloody Monday'!

Working in the series
and having to part with great staff
It was really sad

Filming for the last scene yesterday
There was a battle in the cold sunset [difficult]

How will the ending be for J?
Please watch the drama

To warm up the cold body,
I went to a ramen shop

Because it was ALL UP for me... 2 eggs!

With both my stomach and heart happy
I went home

Because it's cold today
Keep yourselves warm~

Yesterday... ta-da!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

There was an introductory meeting and first rehearsal for 'Yankee-kun to Megane-chan' which will begin on 23 April, 10pm~!

It was the first time I heard about the order of the scenes and ideas from the director, and I think that it would be a really great drama

The cast and character are strong, there were new people and those that I haven't seen in a long time

It was fun during practice, and I had to keep the laughter in from start to finish [laugh]

I'm gonna enjoy it once it begins!

Everyone, look forward to it!!

Changing the subject,
there's something terrible...

I have a mole on my neck!?

There's one strand of hair growing there

This might be hard to believe

But it's about 7cm [laugh]

There's an absurd long, thin strand of hair on my neck!!

When I was wearing my parka this morning
It got stuck and that's when I found out about it

I never knew it existed!!

But mole with hair
Does it bring good luck?

Worrying about whether the next drama would be a hit, but with the usual Narimiya style, I got rid of it

My body is unbelievable!!

Inoue Mao Staff Diary
7th March 2010

Los Angeles ①
7th March 2010 13:12

The day after the preview of 'Darling wa Gaikokujin', we went to LA to shoot for Shonen Magazine♪
The shoot was with Kodansha's M-san, writer Kuriyama-san, cameraman Saito-san and assistant Nakajo-san, who have always taken care of us.
With such fun members, the shoot went smoothly without a hitch!!

(Day 1)
Even in the outskirts of LA, it was cloudy...
When it cleared up a little, the shoot started!!

Feeling jet-lagged, there was a sleepy atmosphere in the bus but this scenery was impressive♪
Actually, there was a pretty strong breeze blowing and it got cold. All the sleepiness was jolted out of Mao-san (*laugh*)
During shooting, the rain would stop, then heavy rain as we're changing locations, it'll stop again during shooting... and the cycle went on!
Known Rain Man M-san was uttering prayers in the car (*laugh*)

Then, we arrived at BAGDAD CAFE. Took a photo with the cafe assistant as a keepsake♪

This cafe had also been used in a movie, a famous place for those in the know.
Mao-san also took many photos with her own digital camera.
Then, Mao-san wrote the name of all the staff who came for the location shoot in the cafe's guestbook and also did some publicity. 'Darling wa Gaikokujin opens 10th April! Watch it!' (*laugh*)
If you ever go there on a trip, check it out!
The sky was always cloudy, but in contrast the sexy...
During dinner, everyone was looking over the photos admiringly.
There were many beautiful and fantastic shots.
Mao-san was squirming as she was repeatedly scrutinized! She felt embarrassed♪

~

The writer Kuriyama posted some photos from the LA trip.

I'll be writing my blog here from today onwards.
Probably I'll update once a week, but it depends on whether there's any announcement to be made, so it might be irregular. Do come and visit once in a while ♪

These days, I've been working hard to improve myself.
Reading books, watching movies, cooking and studying...

I had a meal with a friend whom I've not met for a long time from senior high school.
She has been listening to 'Wonder Song' by S.R.S, a song which I was involved in the PV sometime back. The song gives her encouragement as she goes on a job hunt. I was really glad to hear that. Being able to do that makes me want to work hard too. From now on, I'll do my best.

Liar Game Stage Greet

On 6th March, the stars of 'Liar Game The Final Stage' took to the stage to greet fans on the opening day of the movie. Director Matsuyama Hiroaki joined Toda Erika, Matsuda Shota, Tanabe Seiichi, Kichise Michiko, Suzuki Kousuke and Hamada Mari on stage.

Toda, who plays the painfully honest Kanzaki Nao, has repeatedly been taunted by Suzuki's character Kinoko with his trademark "Baka da yo nee" whenever her naivety is exposed. "That line wasn't in the script. When it was just screamed into my ear so suddenly, I got such a shock,"she confessed. Her reaction to being called a 'baka' wasn't an act after all and now that it's over she said with relief,"I'm glad I won't be called a baka anymore."

Suzuki though, quickly defended himself. "No, it definitely was in the script. I wouldn't just say 'Baka da yo nee' out of the blue, right?" The audience obviously liked the line though because they requested him to say it again and cheered when he complied.

The audience were also given the chance to take part in the 'Garden of Eden Game' featured in the movie. The 502 people in the audience had red, silver and gold apple cutouts with them and were told that if everyone were to put up the red one, they would all receive a special postcard set. However, if a lone gold or silver apple were to appear, that one person will receive travel vouchers worth 100,000 yen. The game is void with any other outcome.

Toda appealed,"Let's all show red!" The result? 499 red, 2 gold and 1 silver. As the audience booed the 'betrayers', the Akiyama in Shota confidently spoke up,"There's no way it was going to be all red, I was sure of that." Toda also replied in character,"For a moment I thought there were only red ones, and then I saw the glint of gold. I believed in you. What a pity."

The movie is now showing nationwide.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

On TGC

It's the tenth anniversary of my debut as an actor this year,
it's also TGC's 10th year holding their exhibition, so I guess it's great timing?
I was really hyped up about it

A collaboration effort with FREE'S MART for a first ladies item

The theme
Sexy Military
It's a style that girls would want to wear freely for this summer

For the runway, I had the popular Sasaki Nozomi-chan who's in the same company as me to wear it

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

There's a limited number
Those who weren't able to attend TGC, do check it out as well

I was a secret guest
The previous entry became somewhat like a quiz as I wasn't able to inform everyone

Sorry

TGC is dangerous ne

It's rare that I get so many thousands of screams, I was a little nervous at first...

Then I really enjoyed it

On stage
The voices felt like tremors that were passed down rapidly

The screams of the girls today
Is like an earthquake of M7. Or M8

A major one [laugh]

I really had fun

Thank you everyone for your support
